Title: Continuous or sequential?
Post by: Blue Kingfisher on April 27, 2019, 04:47:17 PM
Hi everyone, I've just been advised to try continuous HRT (100mg UTROGESTAN vaginally & 4 pumps Oestrogel every day. This is because I encountered too many issues with 200mg UTROGESTAN vaginally for 7 days a month whilst on 5 pumps of Oestrogel.

Why has the gyne recommended continuous versus sequential is my query?

I believe sequential is when you stop the progesterone for a set period of time so you have....what a ‘natural bleed'? Do you stop for 7 days, 14 days or are both options on the table?

Ive just turned 50, been on HRT for about 2 years & have no idea if o still have a natural cycle or not. How will i know if I should be on sequential? If I have lots of break through bleeding?
