Yep.  I have had slow transit for years++.  Bloated beyond words  :'(.  GP gave me peppermint capsules name escapes me as well as 'motillium'.  I had to take these within an hour of eating my main meals.  Sorted the awful feeling of bloateness and nausea.

After 5 years I swapped to Actimel - 2/3 bottles a day.  Helps my bowel enormously.  I note that when I don't drink them my bowel slows up.  Occasionally my bowel really lets go  :o - like this morning  ::).  All within normal limits for me and I am used to it's habits.

Very little pain though, rarely I get sudden pain below the belly button which is a warning. Then I have to dash  :o.

HORMONES! can affect the bowels.  Anything out of the ordinary: i.e. blood [black or red (fresh)] or constancy which remains after 3 weeks should be discussed with a GP.
