Here we go again
I've just started everol 109mg patches on Tuesday and my head feels so fuzzy /confused when I told nurse this is how I felt on everol conti she assured me I would feel like this on everol , this is even before I add the bloody hrt pills
Am I just someone who can't use hrt ?
5 yrs post menopause and I'm feeling worse by the day !!!
Sorry for the rant I'm just so pissed of

Hi KarenMax
Sorry your feeling like this, I remember I felt similar to you when I started
Hrt, I eventually settled on Femoston Conti, which gave me headaches and a like, but I've stuck with it, and it suits me, apart from the headaches I'm fine now, we'll, as fine as I'm going to get...this one is better for me than the other ones I've tried.
You have two choices, either stick with it, and see if symptoms improve, which they might, or if you really can't carry on with it, change to another type. Have you tried Femoston Conti? It's got the ‘kinder' progesterone in it....apparently.....
Same here, apologies if I've missed other posts you've made.....xxx

Hi
No I've only ever be given evriol conti patches which did help me for first load of months but then they seemed to stop working doc changed to different Ines but chemist couldn't get them as there is shortage on them and won't be around until Dec 19
I went to menopause clinic last Monday and this is what the doctor epthought would suit me best , I use the patch all times then on 7th each month I add medroxyprogesteron pill for 12 days which will give me a bleed ,I'm not worrying about having a bleed back again as long as I feel better but today after just changing me patch I'd the same old side effects I had while on everol conti
I'm feeling totally confused as that muzzy gpfeeling in my head is driving me crazy

Hopefully it'll all settle down for you. They say 3/6 months.
If not, then you'll have to change to another form of hrt.
Maybe the dosage could be too high?
I don't know if you can cut them in half, but maybe that's something you could find out?

Hi
I asked the doctor at the hrt clinic last week would 100mg not be too high for me as I'd already told him the everol conti had caused really muzzy head also very dizzy but she said not that because I'm 5 yrs post menopause she thought I needed 100mg patches .
But from putting the new patch on today the sweats haven't stopped and the fuzzy head is still here and I'm feeling dizzy
I don't know if I could cut the patch or not as I'm adding the hrt pill to the dose ?
Birdy she did say about the gel but she wanted me to try the patch first , I'm not even sure the way these clinics work if they send for me again in 3 months times ?
I'd of much rather had the gel rather than a patch but she seems to think the patch gives most even dosage.
I can't argue back with her as I'm clueless regarding this bloody menopause

Doc never listen that's why I ended up going to hrt clinic told them how bad I felt on everol conti abd she put me on everol 100mg right away and said I needed a bleed , I'd not mind the bleed if my head felt ok but it doesn't I feel like I'm going crazy in the head

Yes, I'd cut the patch in half, (I wasn't sure if you could do that, I did when I was on Femseven patches)
And like Birdy says cut down on the prog too.

I'm going to phone hrt clinic in mirning and hopefully get speaking to someone who can offer me some advice if not il just cut the patch in half and try it that way , she said use the pill for 12 days so if I half the patch abd add the pill for 8 days ?
Wounds yous believe I was a nurse I bet you wouldn't but I wasn't gynaecology nursing and im clueless to this bloody hrt ..
I'd much rather have the gel as it's easier for me as when on everol Conti I did have probs with patch coming of with showering and bathing

Hi KarenMax
Yes do that, I would.!
Good luck, it might make all the difference, then once your body has excepted it, (if it does,)you can increase slowly.....
I really hope you start to feel better soon.
Let us know how your getting on....xx

Hi jillydoll yes il phone first thing in morning and see if I can speak to someone if not il cut a patch in half abd see how that goes ..
I'd definitely the stronger patch that's causing me to feel crap as this is the way I felt when I went into kilovanc pills ..
I will let you know as soon as I get speaking to a doctor

Hi folks
I phoned hrt clinic and the staff nurse spoke to the doctor he said to try stick with this dose 100mg as he definitely thinks it's the dose I need but if side effects get too much I could cut top corner of it and use 75mg
I'm going try hold of and see if side effects level out as I don't want to be starting to messing around cutting bits of it
He said 50 mg was way to low for me so fingers crossed I start to feel better soon
By the way they did advise me to use menopause matters site as they said it was fantastic help 😁

Hi Karen max
Am i right unthinking that you were on Evorel Conti patches and have now gone onto Evorel 100? If so, you have doubled the amount of oestrogen which could be giving you the symptoms.
If you are 5 years post menopause then I don't really understand why you need to be on a hrt which gives you a bleed. x
-
Hi Karen
When I have been on a too high estrogeon ie Everol or gel feel very strange in my head. Im post meno and use 2 pumps of gel daily with 7 day Northisterone every 6 weeks. What age are you by the way?

Birdy
Thank you
I don't feel too bad today thankfully.
Spoke to the doctor from hrt clinic and he says that it should settle down after few weeks but if not to get back in touch with him and I can maybe try the gel if I wanted but I'd rather give this patch a fair chance to see if it helps before switching about again ..
The reason he thinks the bleed will be better for me is because I've been in so many conti hrt and none have helped me over the last 4 yrs , I will only be on this mixture of hrt until I get my surgery which hopefully won't be much longer , in my other posts I've said about waiting to have bladder /bowel repair done also womb removed ...
A bleed don't annoy me at all if it help me to feel better I'm willing to give anything a chance

Hi Warwick
My head feels much clearer today so hopefully it was just side effect of the 2 patch being put on
I'm 51 post menopause from I was 46 yrs and pri meno from I was 40 so it's been going on a long bloody time
Hopefully the hrt clinic has it sorted now well fingers crossed anyway

Good luck Karen.
Docs seem to have such different ideas about HRT. I asked about going onto cycle but my doc said the opposite. She said you dont need to bleed post meno and I do t want you to".
She wouldn't hear of it. But I would t mind a bleed if it made me feel better.
Once you get your op at least you wont need the dreaded progesterone after. Are you having ovaries removed too?
I hope you get a date soon.
And let's hope your new regime helps in the meantime

Hi Tc
My own GP,s over the years wouldn't hear tell if me having a bleed as I asked a few times as I was wondering myself if a bleed would ease my symptoms, as I always felt great when I was having regular periods.
As soon as I went to hrt clinic last Monday the doctor there went over my details and said right away about starting me in an hrt which would cause a bleed as he believed it would help my symptoms as you say they are all different and to be honest I don't care about bleeding each mood as long as my other hateful symptoms leave me
I have bad prolapse of bladder ,bowel and uterus,my ovaries were fine last year at scan but yes I'm having them removed as my mum died from ovarian cancer aged 50 she suffered 5 yrs before finally losing her fight
So if I get them removed it's one less worry for me , they no longer work and to be honest I do worry about ovarian cancer ..
Waiting list here in NI is just crazy I'm waiting coming 3 yrs on operation so hopefully not much long
Thank you ladies for all your lovely kind words , I do nip onto site often so I will let you know how I'm getting on with new hrt
Kaz xx
