Appointment arrived today for womb scan/biopsy but not for another fortnight. My womb is now cramping daily and I'm needing painkillers. No bleeding, just uncomfortable but was told last week by menopause specialist that womb lining too thick 9mm rather than 4mm, hence why referred for another scan and biopsy, although she did say it looked healthy just too thick.
I'm now considering taking a 7 day break from hrt regime - sandrena gel, 100 micronised utrogestan and tostran every other day - to try and bring on a bleed. I don't think I can wait another fortnight till 10th Apr to be scanned. I feel heavy down below as though my body is desperate to shed lining but can't! :'(
Any advice appreciated!

Ring the Dept 2-morrow and ask? Could you accept a cancellation if someone does show up?

Yes it's really worth ringing the appointment's number daily for cancellations. It's worked for me in the past and it does no harm. They should have a free number. It must be horrible for you.

Thanks ladies. I actually work at the hospital where the scan/biopsy is going to be (in palliative care, which is the worst dept to work in when you yourself aren't feeling well, as my mind is racing with negative thoughts :'( ), BUT yes I'm going to ring the gynae secretaries tomorrow I think and try and get an earlier appt/cancellation.
