Title: Change in HRT
Post by: Midget2000 on March 13, 2019, 04:14:34 PM
Hi like a few others I was on Elleste Duet but the pharmacy can no longer get hold of it. My GP gave me an alternative called Kilofem but when I picked it up I realised its not the same. I spoke to them and they have changed it to Femoston. I hope that I get on okay with it.

Has anyone had any experience of changing HRT?

I've been on Elleste duet for four years and it's the only one I've ever taken. I started on it aged 42 due to an early menopause.

:welcomemm:  you could put the product names into the search box on here and see the threads that pop up.  I'm sure others will be along.

Thanks, I've looked and one of the hormones is different the progesterone one, but I will see how I get on with it.

The one I'm on - well was on - is cyclic and they have me a conti one, I read the leaflet and they are not the same which is why they have changed it to Femoston.

No it wasn't the conti I was on.

I don't think t is the pharmacists fault Stellajane. A pharmacist would not handover a different product to the one stated on the script (unless it is the brand name).
I'm guessing the GP changed it to Femoston  :-\

A Pharamacist would give over what is prescribed, unless he/she is on the ball when they would ring the Surgery to check.

I spoke to my GP this morning and they have changed it to the Femoston which is the same type I was on before. I took the Kilofem back to the pharmacy. I'm just glad I read the leaflet and didn't just start taking them.

Thanks, yes it was quickly sorted out and I'm going into it with an open mind. I've still got a month of my current one left. I'm glad I re ordered my prescription in plenty of time.

Hopefully, you wont have a problem. Give it a while to bed in. You never know it could be better!
