Title: Elleste Duet nightmare
Post by: carleajam on March 11, 2019, 07:33:40 AM
I'm 51 and last year I was put on Elleste Duet 1mg by my doctor for some mild menopausal symptoms. Mainly I was having hot sweats at night, very irregular periods and a low sex drive. I took them for 3 months and they helped for a while but I was starting to get night sweats again. At this point I decided to come off the hrt as I thought I would try and cope without it. I was fine for a while until recently the night sweats have got a lot worse I am waking every hour drenched in sweat plus I have started to have hot flushes during the daytime. I decided to go back on Elleste Duet but this time it is not helping at all. I have been taking it for a month and am still having terrible night sweats and hot flushes plus half way through the green pills am getting terrible insomnia and feeling low. I am going to persuavere but has anyone else had no improvement in the night sweats on taking Elleste? The main reason for taking them is to help with night sweats and its strange how the first time I took them they worked but now there not. Any advice?

Hi it's possible that you need a higher dose of Oestrogen as your own levels have probably stopped further.

If it's the progesterone that's making you ill then you could try a different brand with a different progesterone.

It also takes a few weeks to see an improvement . X
