Title: Oestrogel and Breast Cysts

Hi

I have had breast cysts for years and have had them drained previously, only for them to return. Checking for lumps can be a challenge as they are always lumpy.

Can I check with you ladies please whether HRT, in particular Oestrogel makes cysts worse or better?

I understand that cysts does not increase the risk of breast cancer. My maternal grandma had a mascestomy for breast cancer in her 50's and my aunt has breast cancer in her 80's. I have no 1st level relatives with a history of breast cancer.

I am 44 and don't think I will be on the mammogram screening program until 50?

I think that you can ask for a mammogram if you are concerned.  Maybe ring the appropriate Dept to find out, then let us know?
