My pharmacy says there's a national shortage and my GP needs to prescribe something similar. I'm post menopause and have a uterus.
-
Hi Kliofem is the same x
-
Ok thanks for such a quick answer. Will let you know what he prescribes.
-
I've just been prescribed kilogram instead of the elleste, am told it's the same, so am hoping I won't notice any different.
-
Doc prescribed indivina instead. Now they're having trouble getting that .... I've been without hrt for or five days now and I'm melting ....
-
Indivina is a different hrt. It has a different progesterone.
Kliofem is the same progesterone as Elleste Duet Conti x
-
What do you mean by different please?

Hi have a look at this link and you will see all the different hrt available for post meno.
Elleste Duet Conti has Norethisterone as the progesterone . Indivina has MPA (medroxyprogesterone) as the progesterone.
Indivina is classed as a low dose or medium dose hrt. Elleste Duet Conti is a high dose . So you may find that the Indivina is not strong enough for you.
Kliofem is identical to Elleste Duet Conti so you could ask for that instead.
Hope that makes sense xx

Thanks Dotty, they couldn't get kilofem either. Is there a difference between the two types of synthetic progesterone hormone used, and why is the progesterone component so high in the indivina compared to Elleste duet Conti please?
