Hi, I'm post menopause and have been trying to get my doctor to prescribe Oestrogel and Urtrogestan HRT for me. He has now said this combination of HRT is not suitable for me because it will cause monthly bleeds, is this true post meno?
I'm currently on Evorel Conti patches which are causing palpitations. :-\

Doctor is wrong!
You take the Utrogestan continuously and it dies not cause a monthly bleed x

Hi Dotty, that's what I though but as I'm no expert do just wanted to check before I go back. Thanks :).

Can you get Urtrogestan in a pessary?
-
Hi Tracey
Yes you can ive just started them 200mg supposed to have less side effects? Im taking for 14 days and then hopefully will have a bleed.. not had one for 6 months x

You can get a pessary but it's not licensed for hrt. It's only licensed for fertility treatment. Lots of ladies use the 100mg vaginally. X

Unfortunately there is confusion in the prescribing info which does imply bleeding on both the recommended regimes as per Besins info ie 12 days per 28 x 200 mg or 25 days per 28 x 100 mg. The patient leaflet is also inconsistent with this!
As Dotty says - you just take it every day to avoid bleeding (after the settling in period of time - sometimes random bleeding occurs initially).
Hurdity x
