Title: Testosterone
Post by: Italianlover on January 15, 2019, 09:35:08 AM
Does anyone know if using testosterone can cause bloating and fluid retention? I have been using it for 10 days and have become horrendously bloated. I was prescribed Prognyova as well, could that be the culprit? Either way, I can't continue as it's unbearable and I'm slightly scared.

Prognyova is estradiol (oestrogen), taken orally. Bloating seems to be a side effect mentioned for most HRT! I've never experienced it before but this is terrible. I'm feeling so much worse and I was feeling pretty terrible before! I don't think I can continue with it.

I wouldn't have thought T would be the cause of bloating - it is taken in such a tiny dose. Did you start the progynova at the same time? If so this is much more likely - especially as it is oral oestrogen which I think is known to be potentially worse in this respect? What dose of progynova also are you taking and what dose/formulation of testosterone?

Hurdity x

Yes Hurdity, prognyova 1mg daily commenced at the same time. Also started Sandrena gel in addition to Evorel 50 patch which I've been on for 5 years. Testosterone is Tostran 1 to 2 pumps daily, I've started cautiously on 1 pump. Feeling less exhausted but have gone up at least a dress size and have a massively bloated belly and legs. Thank you for helpful replies, I'm worried about what I'm doing to my poor body!

1 to 2 pumps a day is a very high dose of Tostran. It's recommended to use 1 pump up to 3 times a week. X

Oh no, even more worried now. I saw a hormone and menopause specialist so cannot understand it. Very scary.
