Hi, I have va and was advised by the gynae consultant to do 2 a night for 3 weeks then reduce dose to 2 twice a week. All was fine during the three week stint but now having reduced the dose am having issues again. Can I just increase the dose or do I need to see the doc again until I can get an appointment, is the two every night something I could continue with or could it be harmful? The gynae clinic have discharged me and my GP doesn't seem to have any idea about va. I could get re referred but it takes ages!!! Tia

I need to use one every day, you may be better using one at a time so more spread over the week.

My meno specialist said it is quite safe to use every day.

I use vagifem every other day & estriol cream externally everyday if I needed vagifem everyday I would do so it's a TINY amount.
I also use HRT all for my VA.

I was initially given your dose and a gynaecologist said to double the peasant twice a week, but I still had issues, mainly UTIs and splitting during sex
I then went to every day and it's helped no end, I occasionally still tear but utis are kept away x

I am mostly using it daily (single not double) but sometimes alternate days if I have no symptoms. It seems to be working well at the moment.

Thanks for all your responses. Do you consult a doctor about changing dose or just go with what works? I'm thinking one a day might help as the two twice a week don't seem to be helping x

I changed it myself then when I moved house the new surgery took me off it, I had a couple UTIs and kidney infection and explained it's because they took me off so now they allow one per day x

I just used one a day and put my script in when needed, I was pulled up by my named GP after about a year and he told me he wouldn't issue anymore for another 3 months as I had exceeded my quota!
I promptly made another appointment with another GP who said he was happy to prescribe what I felt I needed, I dread the day he retires.
