Hello all,
I'm interested in what time of day you use Vagifem and if the time of day makes a difference to your symptoms, particularly urinary, bladder, urethra issues.
I'm still pretty new to Vagifem to address cystitis type issues so am interested in other people's experiences.
Thanks in advance

I have mostly used it in the evening but occasionally the morning. I haven't noticed any difference yet. How long have you been using it? For me it is 3 months but not every day for most of that time.

I've been using it for 4 and a half months.
I saw an improvement in symptoms after the initial 14 days, daily dose.
I then moved to three times per week as advised by my Gynae so I took it Monday first thing, Wednesday early evening, Friday bedtime.
At three months I still had some soreness and irritation so the Gynae said to increase to every other day and to use Yes OB as well.
So since then, about 6 weeks, I've used Vagifem early evening every other day, around 5 or 6pm, and I put some Yes OB on after showering in the morning.
Since changing the regime, my symptoms have got worse again so I'm trying to work out if the time of day is a cause.
I also have a lot of stress currently with my job and with worrying about my bladder so I do also have a concern that my pelvic discomfort is partly or all caused by stress and obsessing about that part of my body e.g. holding it tense and causing further pain. Do you experience that at all?

I don't think it is time of day but frequency. It works so much better for me if I use it daily. However there is the problem of convincing the doctors that this is allowed. You might have seen my other discussions on MM so I won't repeat it here.

Yes, I'm using it daily right now to try and get back on track and get some comfort over Christmas.
I have seen your other posts, thank you Katejo.

I use daily at about 7 pm but if i forget I'll use in morning. I found the yes o b irritated me but the water based was ok. my g p has no problem with me using it daily. It did take months for it to feel better but still have occasional blips.

I'm a morning user because I wouldn't want the pessary getting on hubbys willy if we got it on in the evening (nudge nudge wink wink)
I insert just a bit inside and then it deals with bladder and external issues x
-
Ha Annie, I like your thinking ;)
Do you insert it quite low down - around half the length of the applicator or less?
How many times per week do you use it?
-
Birdy thank you, what you say makes sense. I was wondering if yoga or similar exercises targeting the pelvis would help loosen it all up.
-
Shelley - when the Yes OB irritated you - was it irritation of your skin or did it impact your bladder/urethra?

I'm a 7 day a week user, I literally push it in a small way towards Tummy and release. Keeps me lubricated, keeps UTIs away and helps with external issues I had (soreness/burning) x

Thank you Annie, makes me wonder if I'm inserting mine too high.

Thank you Annie, makes me wonder if I'm inserting mine too high.
I was inserting as high as poss when I started, but still had issues externally so was using Ovestin outside/Vagifem inside. By halving the insertion site it's helped all problems x

Thank you Annie, makes me wonder if I'm inserting mine too high.
I recently started only inserting half way after a tip on FB.

Ok thanks both, I'll try inserting it lower.
Fingers (not legs!) crossed :)

I use Monday,Wednesday and Friday nights. After seeing a few posts I now insert lower and think it has helped

[/ quote] It irritated the outside and the inside. Felt as if the outside of the urethra was burning.
