Title: DO I need more E?
Post by: Tc on December 19, 2018, 09:53:49 PM
Hiya ladies. May I say that this forum was an amazing help to me during a very bad last couple of weeks. I would like to say thanks to all who gave advice love and hugs
I am feeling a little better. Dont know if it's a coincidence but I woke up feeling better the first day of my switch to phase 1 (femseven sequi). I have noticed a pattern of depression worsening during the Two weeks of Progesterone.
Anyhow I am off to the consultant on Friday and I wondered if anyone has been switched from femseven sequi to a higher estrogen dose?
I feel as though my symptoms are poorly controlled and wondering if doc will change my treatment.
Anyone had experience of femseven sequi being too lower dose.?
Best wishes to you allx

Hi Tc
Have you thought about an oestrogen only patch (they go up to 100mcg, combined only goes to 50), with a separate progesterone such as Utrogestan alongside? If taking the Utrogestan orally (at night, as it's very sedating) doesn't suit you, you ca always use it vaginally xx

Thanks northam I will ask about it. I probably wouldn't mind the sedating effect as I sleep very poorly. I have read that it can cause dizziness and nausea tho. Have u had any experience with it.?
I'm going to ask for ovestin so not sure if u can take two different things vaginally.
From reading on here ovestin seems more suitable for bladder probs than vagifem.
I bet the doc will have to get that big book out lol!!!

Hi Tc

I use it together with a 100mcg patch, and the sedative effect is great for sleep - honestly it's like I've taken a really good sleeping tablet or a couple of drowsy antihistamines!

I use it for 7 days currently, the recommendation is 12, however I'm post meno and my specialist is happy for me to take it like that whilst I wait for a Mirena insertion. I do get some pmt type symptoms on it, but nowhere near as bad as norethisterone. My only real problem with it is that I bleed every two weeks, so going on a longer cycle and only taking it for that time has helped with that. I'm going to have a go of it vaginally next month to see how I go xx
