Title: mirena coil
Post by: NaturalMystic on December 13, 2018, 06:25:13 PM
Hi all.

Had the mirena fitted on Tuesday, bloody hell that hurt.

What are your experiences with this, not the actual fitting of course.

Hi there.

Amazing, no periods ever and boy they were hell, tolerated well and great.
Hope you get on OK.

Tha Mirena with Oestrogel alongside was the best HRT combo I ever had. I have tried just about every HRT going as I had a premature menopause.
Expect some progesterone side effects at first as there is often an initial big hit. My bleeding and spotting stopped within a few weeks(I was very post meno by then) - hope it works well for you. DG x

Hi,

I'm spotting which i can cope with.  Tummy cramps reduced so that's good.  Anything else I should expect?

Not really. You may find you feel a little sedated or super relaxed for a few weeks. I slept much better with the Mirena. X

I wish I felt sedated and relaxed. Sleep and anxiety worse than ever.  Had the coil fitted 6 days ago 😒

Yes 2 pumps for the past 8 weeks.

Drs Friday, I'm going to get back on amitriptine, it was the only thing that helped my sleep.  Without that I've been taking too many zopoclone and diazepam so have to weigh this up.

Looking back my sleep and mood was much better on amitriptine
