Hi Ladies,
I had my follow up appt with meno specialist Dr Shaw (Cambridge) this week and I told her I was really happy with the gel, but getting some side effects from the utrogestan (despite taking it vaginally). She agreed I could reduce the 200mg for 12 to 7 days. She then mentioned a new HRT that has been available in the States and recently become available in the UK which contains no progesterone, but instead has oestrogen and anti-oestrogen (to protect breast tissue and womb).
Does anyone have any experience of this or know anymore about it e.g. brand name/ side effects etc. It sounds great for those who are prog intolerant and if I am still struggling I might go back to her to discuss it further, but wondered what the collective knowledge of this group might be able to add as I am sure there is lots to consider and no HRT is perfect.

I think you are looking for information on Duavive/Duavee (US).

I have written in summer 2017 and also earlier this year to ask for the menus to be updated to include this product so that we can refer women to it but I guess there are more important things to be doing!
What I would say is that it is quite low dose and the oestrogen is the same as in Premarin ie the horse oestrogens (conjugated equine oestrogens) so different from estradiol. Depending on your current oestrogen dose (and your principles) you might find that it's not strong enough/not like the idea of it. Great idea in principle for those who are progesterone intolerant though...

THank you and yes that was the name of it. I will look up the thread. However, I am happy with gel and utrogestan right now and feeling so much better :)
