Title: HRT Patch sizes
Post by: Baldrick11 on November 23, 2018, 12:01:50 PM
Hello all,

I was just wondering if someone can suggest a estrogen only HRT patch with a level of around 75mg that is small?

I have been on Estelle solo 40MX for 6 months (a fairly small patch) but now the doctor has increased my HRT dose to Estelle solo MX80 but the patch is huge 28.5cm (squared)

Is there another similar brand with similar dosage in a smaller sized patch

Thanks for your comments

Estradot is oestrogen only and comes in a 75mcg dose and is super small and super sticky x

I like Evorel which comes in a 75 and is reasonably sized and sticky too 😊

Hmmm lovely sucky Estradot  ;D

Re sizes - Estradot is MUCH smaller than Evorel.

Evorel 50 area  4 x 4 cm 16 cm2
Estradot 50 area 2.25 x 2.25 cm (approx) 5 cm2

The one you have been offered is over 5 x 5 cm!

Estradot 75 (the closest) is 7.5 cm2 (2.73 x 2.73 cm)

Also that is quite a big jump - the next dose up for all the other oestrogen patches is 50 mcg and these then go up to 75 mcg. I wouldn't just double the amount immediately without good reason? Maybe there is one? Here they all are: https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/treatafter.php  (scroll down).
