Evening all.
How many of you are on the gel, how many squirts per day do you take and what does it do for you?
Thanks xx

Well, I use 3x pumps a day and and it has worked really well for me but I'm starting to think maybe I don't absorb it too well as since I have come off 10mg amitryptiline I am experiencing some body temp changes, not flushes as such but phases of going really hot. Plus suffering from dry eye and dry mouth again x

I used Oestrogel for many, many years. I used just one pump
Per day for a long time and then increased to 2 pumps when I realised I needed a bit extra.
2 pumps per day should be enough for most women to control their flushes etc.
I always applied it to inner thighs in the morning, on clean dry skin and allowed10 mins for drying before dressing. You do have to avoid skin contact with another person for 2 hours following application.
The advantage of this gel is that you can control your dose and I would suggest you start low by using one pump per day for a couple of weeks. I found that too high a dose gave me side effects e.g. headaches.
Patches or the gel are probably the best way to use oestrogen.
Feeling good on any hrt regime is usually about finding the right progesterone - that can be the challenging part and I would suggest either a sequential regime with Provera or Utrogestan or have a Mirena fitted. The Mirena was my best option.
On 2 pumps of gel per day I had an oestrogen reading of between 450-600 which is good. I think some women can have trouble with absorption.

Re: my post above
I'm not Quick to blame the gel as I am starting to wonder if I have Sjögrens or something similar as I seem to have the symptoms plus I have Raynauds that goes with it. I'm being referred now to a London hospital for mouth problems caused by dryness and waiting for a hospital eye appt for dryness x

I use 3.5 pumps a day. 2 in the morning and 1.5 at night. I probably need to move to 4 pumps a day. But I do spot a lot if I try that. Need to get that sorted. I use Utrogestan vaginally every night and find it fine for my mood etc, but the spotting and longer bleeds are getting tedious.
I never suffered from hot flushes as such, although I did get some night sweating and would on and off with the duvet all night, throughout the winter in an unheated bedroom, with the window open!
Estrogel has completely stopped the night overheating and it stops me feeling unutterably sad and upset. I could just cry at the drop of a hat before it. I am grateful to it for those 2 things alone. I'm also struggling with hypothyroidism so it can be hard to tell where the symptoms are coming from sometimes. But the gel is good for the mood.
I don't absorb it very well, hence needing more of it than some.
