48 (been peri for years) and taking Evorel 50, waiting for Merina to be inserted (long story) and taking Utrogestan vaginally every other day.
I feel calm and my stress levels have reduced, but so has the drama going on around me.
My concentration levels are terrible at work and whilst reading. I have to back track and read things again and sometimes just give up.
Missing the Merina, with the patches I felt pretty good.
What am I missing, is it the lack of Merina along side the estrogen?
Thank you

You may be experiencing more side effects from taking the Utrogestan continuously? When I am on this phase of my (long) cycle, even thoygh I am using it vaginally - I often get progessively more foggy-headed as the time wears on. I know I probably take a higher dose (200 mg x 12 days) but you may well be sensitive to this, and perhaps more so than the levonorgestrel in the Mirena which you may be able to tolerate better? Also possibly if you are further towards menopause maybe you would benefit from a slightly higher dose of oestrogen - after all you are still young and not even at the average age of menopause?

I used to read all the time. Then suddenly I couldn't read at all because all my concentration had gone. Nothing sank in. For me I needed both oestrogen/testosterone and some thyroid meds and now I can read perfectly enjoyably again and retain information.
The thyroid meds came first and made the first improvement. I would say the improving HRT situation has helped further.

This is food for thought. Roll on the Merina fitting, I am waiting for an appointment.
I have been Peri for about 8 years and started HRT 5 years ago. I will see what happens when the coil is fitted and then talk again and decide if more Estrogen is needed.
What other symptoms could I be experiencing if I am further on ?
Thank you x
