Title: Estradot patches
Post by: Rosie63 on October 24, 2018, 09:06:03 AM
Morning ladies

Could anyone tell me please whether Estradot 50mg patches are considered to be a low or medium dose HRT?

Thank you 😊

I was wondering that too. Ive swapped from 3 pumps of Estrogel which i was told was high to Estradot 75 and i feel awful. I might aswell just be using an Elastoplast. Felt much better after 1 week on Estrogel and been using the patches nearlt a month x

On average 50 mcg is medium dose. 25 mcg is low. 75 mcg is higher and 100 mcg is high - but that is assuming an average absoprtion. Some women absorb better than others.

Some women absorb much more on  1 pump Estrogel (low) than I do on 50 mcg Estradot. Some barely absorb the gel at all eg 4-6 pumps and it's not going in. The comparisons really are average and you have to arrive at a dose that works for you.

Grateful for your input Hurdity.
How do you get this through to a GP? One of my many GPs, and the one that told this was the menopause 'specialist', didnt want me using more than 2 pumps of Estrogel per day as any higher was too much and a higher risk. Im 47, allegedly post menopause with no cancer in family, I don't smoke, barely drink and healthy.
