Title: Anyone's facial skin become more tanned generally since HRT/meno?
Post by: Noheroicsplease on October 16, 2018, 02:59:19 PM
Hi

This is odd; but my face is definitely more tanned all over than it ever has been. Since I was pregnant, I've had a few dark spots, and there are a few more of those, a few large freckles, more freckles - but a base that is browner.

It doesn't look like melasma, but maybe it is?

I wore SP40 every day this summer! I wore a big sunhat too. Clearly, not big enough!

While on Hrt for a short while earlier this year i had to use factor 50  to stop burning and I normally tan easily. I was definitely more sensitive to the sun whilst on hrt.

I got a tan for the first time in my life this year. So i am happy with that .
I've always been freckely but my legs actually tanned.
A positive side effect.
Isn't there something in pregnancy called mylasma . Hormone related. Wonder if hrt causes same

I thought the pigmentation in pregnancy was called chloasma? I had it with my daughter, but not my son, I thought it may have been due to the extra oestrogen from her lol.

Some anti biotics have the same effect and it will usually say on the label to avoid sunlight.

Yeah, you see I don't consider it positive. It's skin damage...
