Hi
I have just been prescribed Tostran to use 1 pump alternate days.
My specialist said to rub it onto my inner arms, but I seem to remember people saying they use it on their inner thighs. Also is it wise to split the dose and rub into either each arm or each thigh?
Also, she said to reduce the dose to twice weekly when I am "feeling better" In people's experience how long does Tostran take to start making an improvement?
Thank you.

I rub it on inner arms. I squirt it onto my left inner arm and rub it in with my right inner arm, so none is wasted. I use it 3 times a week. x

Thank you Dotty :) I use Oestrogel on my outer arms, so that would make it easier for me using the Tostran on my inner arms.

I use Tostran on my lower thighs /near knees. Energy and wellbeing were pretty quick (@6 weeks) anything sexual took longer x

Thanks Annie x

I rub into inner arm and alternate between left and right. I was never told whether this should be above or below the elbow so I also alternate this. Please let us all know how you get on.

When I started Tostran, it was summer time and I rubbed it into my thigh. Come winter and I had put on tights already, I changed to my arm. It didn't make any difference. It took two weeks to take affect. I started with half a pump every day and reduced to half a pump every other day after a couple of months.

I was putting mine on my thigh but it was taking ages to dry, so now I do the inner lower arm rub together thing.
I've been on tostran for three months. I'm sorry to say it hasn't been a miracle for me. I hoped it would help with a number of things but no real change so far.

Still give it time Alohabetti x

I really hope you're right, Annie! I'm fed up with having no libido AT ALL. 😫
-
It hasn't helped my libido but has helped with orgasms and response
But for me, it's given me back my well being, levelled mood and helped give me my life back x

I've just been prescribed Tostran. Alongside a 100mg Estrogen patch.
I am hoping i feel less tired, less treacly, hair gets thicker and life just feels easier.

Thank you for all your replies. The testosterone is so new to me, so I'm just taking the one pump every other day as advised and am now putting it on my lower inner arm and rubbing them together .. I use 4 pumps of Oestrogel so they go on my outer arms and shoulders, again as advised. I am taking 2 x desogestrel also.
All I can say is that I had 10 months of hell on Femoston both doses. Why I stuck it out is beyond me, but I have a lot of experience in the pharma industry and know that it can take along time for your body to settle and get rid of side effects before you feel the benefits. Well, these side effects didn't go away.
Out of pure desperation I saw a fantastic specialist, which is where my new regime started. Yes, it took a short while to settle, but OMG the difference!
My testosterone blood levels came back a little low, hence starting Tostran........ it is still to soon to say whether it is helping, but I am more than happy to keep posting if people are interested xx

Hi Jasmine,
So pleased you feel better! Yeh!
What is desosgestrel? What specialist did you see?
-
Hi, desogestrel is actually a progesterone only mini pill for contraception. I had been on this for contraception for 10 years, but I was advised at the time to take 2 x pills because of problem bleeding.
This settled down so I had no bleeding at all - therefore it was very hard to know if I was peri-menopausal. It seems I have been for a far longer time than I realised.
Long story short, after absolute hell on Femoston my specialist but me on Oestrogel and back on desogestrel because I had obviously tolerated it well for many years. However it is not licensed for endometrium protection (even though it does the job) so, like the testosterone, only a menopause specialist is allowed to prescribe it.
As I said, the new regime is working and all I can say is that there can be light at the end of the tunnel. :-*
Good luck.
