Gp said its not as good as Venlafaxine.
Also does not work, like it says it does, well you know doctors wordings, when i leave the gp surgery, i forget most things they say :-\
Iwill give it a go.
Anyone else on it?
Omg i have just readn up about it.
Its an anti-depressant.
I told him i have zero interest in sex, and my marriage is falling apart.
Im so angry.

Hi anti depressants should not be used as first line treatment for menopausal symptoms. HRT should be offered. Have you ever been on hrt? Sorry you have had such a bad experience. Unfortunately it happens a lot . X

Been on tibolone for 18 months and great for libido. But bleeding has meant a biopsy and coming off it.Don't know if I'll go back on it. Only just had the biopsy so early days.

He also offered Therapy, i told him its my body, yes sorry i have been on soooo many different Hrt, just gave up, i would just love to have to feel the urge again, :-\

Plus loveydovey ADs can dampen libido
Are you post meno ?
Can't you see andifferent gp and take literature to back up your request for Tibolone ? X

Hi Annie
Yes Post, i know that AD;s does lessen the libido, i suppose i could try another gp.
He did say that i was on Tibelone years ago, so not so sure what else i can try for low mood, zero interest in sex, anyone????? :'(

So sorry to hear this loveydovey - as the others have said - the doctor should not be offering ADs for lack of libido. Do you have any other menopausal symptoms still for which HRT would be indicated? Sometimes docs like to hear the magic words "flushes and sweats" because they don't know enough about menopause so will only offer HRT for these. If you have no medical reason not to take Tibolone then it is your right to be able to be prescribed it - especially as you are under 60. If you want to go on it again because it worked for you in the past please do back to your doctor - or ideally a different one in the practice, and ask to be prescribed it. Do pursue this option first - and if not the only other treatment is restarting full HRT and all that entails together with testosterone - but I think Tibolone sounds like your best bet for now. Good luck!
