It really is all about balance - so be sure if you're replacing T and not feeling as you expect, to have your levels checked. Indeed, women should have their levels checked before using T replacement as not everyone will have lower levels and may not benefit from supplementation. Testing for T should be carried out in the AM as this gives the most accurate measure, but will still have a degree of variability. It is never possible to measure exact levels of any hormone, as these (and HRT) fluctuate, but it will clearly indicate if there is an obvious excess or very low levels.
