Title: Alternatives to 4 pumps of oestrogel
Post by: MIS71MUM on August 16, 2018, 05:54:41 PM
Hi ladies
Has anyone else failed to override their cycle with 4 pumps?
If so, did you eventually manage to do this with another preparation?

Think I'm going to have to try a mix of preparations maybe?

Recent levels of 153 pmol of oestradiol despite 4 pumps!

The only thing I would say about mixing preparations Mis71Mum, is that it might cause some odd fluctuations which can increase symptoms - particularly flushes and swings in mood.

It is better to have a stable level, even if lower than to have highs and lows and I guess stable is what you're lookibg for? I assume you're still peri?  xxxx

Oh that's encouraging to know. How are you feeling?

I know we've spoke before and I'm sure you do 3 in a morning and 3 at night.

At least things are going in the right direction for you. It's strange how the extra 2 pumps have made all that difference to your levels.

Hi Tempest

Yes it's appears I'm still peri. Surely it can't go on much longer 😩!

I read on another thread what you wrote to Noheroics, about the slam dunk effect....I'm sure that's happening to me.

Aside from mood issues, I seem to flush/sweat from the minute I wake up, get relief from from 11 till 5, then it all starts again. I apply my gel at 8 am ish.

The only other thing that could have caused this massive dip, is being prescribed Oestradose instead of gel. I don't want to think that it's this as trying my best to be open minded.

I thought I'd start this thread as there's a few of us who seem to have fluctuations on gel.

If it helps - and I'm on no hrt - our pattern of symptoms are exactly the same with the timing!

So -  you're DEFINITELY not getting much help there from the gel! Can you get hold of some Estrogel, to see if the Oestrodose is the culprit? (I know the jury is still out on that one - but I remember my own experiences of it)! xxxx

Hi all

I have the same issue.

6 pumps?! Is that even 'allowed"?

It sounds so much, but I guess if it's not being absorbed.

I might try increasing it before I ditch it.
