Hello- after advice!
I'm 46 and took a medi-checks private test to confirm what I suspected- my oestradiol is low: 51.8 pmol/l (testosterone 0.181 mmol/l- which i gather is ok)
No period for about 75 days so no idea if i still have a cycle!
i know a one-off reading is not always considered useful but it's clearly low regardless of where i'm at in my cycle!
I have been struggling for years in terms of mood and hormones but all attempts at HRT have so far failed.
I'm wondering if previously my oestrogen has been too erratic for hrt to work, whereas now- assuming it's consistently low, i may be ready!!
i feel pretty knackered which gets worse towards the end of the day and i have a continuous feeling of anxiety -also my bursts of anger surprise me! i'll think i'm ok then absolutely flip if something triggers me (usually one of my kids!)
to be honest, i have felt worse when hormones were on a roller coaster!!
but i'm only 46 and don't want to have the energy levels of someone much older or the constant edgy feeling.
any suggestions as to which hrt? is there an ideal range of oestradiol levels to combat mood and energy problems?
Thanks for any help :)

Hi and welcome MM
It does sound as though you are peri meno and as you are quite young to be low in oestrogen you really should be considering HRT. Diagnosis and treatment should be based on symptoms not blood tests.
Look at all the factual stuff on this site and perhaps print off the hrt types to show your GP and discuss your options. It's quite good to start with a low dose of Femoston sequential.
I suspect your life would get back on track with a bit of hrt. DG x
