Title: Fem 7 Sequi
Post by: ladylollipop on July 21, 2018, 04:56:17 PM
Hello , my gynecologist friend put me on Fem7 sequi patches. Bought them today and will start tomorrow. Who uses it or used it and can tell me a bit about it? I hope to get rid of my anxiety and nervousness . I am also on venlafaxine uped the dose 3 weeks ago to 150mg but think it is too much and the effect is not so great as last time.

Hi just wondering why you have been given a sequi patch and not a continuous one?

Well I don't know. What is the difference? In a German description I have read sequi is for postmenopause women. Now I am confused

Femseven sequi is for peri menopausal women. It has 2 weeks of oestrogen and 2 weeks of oestrogen and progesterone . It will cause a monthly bleed.

Femseven Conti gives you continuous progesterone and oestrogen and no monthly bleed.

Unless the German medication is different.

Hello Dotty, was really confused. So I have just rang my gynecologist friend ( we are really good friends since we went to school together so I can ring him on Saturday evening ) he said conti will be given a little bit later in menopause. Well, trust him and I will try. Let you know if it works.

Well I’m not a doctor but the guidance is that Conti is given when you are 12 months without a period.

Are you happy about starting periods again?

No not really but he told me it could bleed but it doesn't have to. He is not just a gynecologist he is also specialized in hormones ( endocrinologist) . It is all so confusing.  :'(

Not all gynaecologists are menopause specialists!

If you look on this website for HRT preparations then you will see which hrts are for post menopause. You can take a sequi preparation post menopause but there is no need to. My GP wouldn’t give me a sequi regime because I’m post menopause. I think the statistics are that 80% of women will bleed on a sequi regime.

How many years post menopause are you? When was your last period?

My last period was in 2013 . I am 52 years old

You definitely fit the criteria for continuous hrt. I wouldn't want to start periods again after 5 years!

But you've got to do what you feel is right.

Good luck x
