Hot flushes started a couple of weeks ago - not too bad, just hot and sweaty. Now they come on several times a day. What's worse, at night, I suddenly feel freezing cold and I do NOT like it. When work starts full force soon, it all might get in the way. Is it time to consider HRT?

How are your periods and diet over-all? How old are you? Do you keep a diary to chart symptoms etc.?

When did you have a thyroid function test?

Hi. Periods have been irregular for a couple of years, then the stopped for 5 months with no symptoms... then they came back with the vengeance for 3 months (irregular), and now it's 2 months since the last one. Flushes visiting instead!

Thyroid is fine. Not so much scary as getting in the way!

It sounds like a pretty normal experience with hot flushes. For some its a phase that passes quite quickly for others it can go on and on and on. Lack of sleep is no fun when you work.
HRT will sort it out if you choose that route.
Thanks.

Give HRT a try. You have nothing to lose.
