Title: Permanently sweating and nausea
Post by: Lisa1966 on July 18, 2018, 03:03:43 PM
Hi ladies,
I'm absolutely sick to death of feeling crap,I'm so hot all the time,it's like one permanent flush and makes me feel really sick,I've just finished 12 days of provera, was spotting for last three days of taking it,am now losing clots sorry,I received an email from my consultant regarding blood test results, and he has advised me to go up to 6 pumps of gel,I have been doing this for the last week anyway, then he wants me to get more bloods done in 3 weeks,as estrogen level was 120 but he says it needs to be between 600 and 700,to relieve symptoms,so the nightmare goes on,also I'm a cook in a care home,so this permanent flush is killing me.xx

Get as much light clothing as possible.  Do you have to wear Uniform in the kitchen, if so discuss with Management about different material if that's a contributor.

That nauseous feeling is awful  :'(.  Slow release foods might help if you can face them: dried fruits and nuts, bananas, porridge  :-X or a good muesli ....... graze on these will help a bit as the body uses up energy when hot regardless of hormones so grazing keeps energy levels up.

Nausea was one of my worst menopause symptoms. It went away once I'd got the oestrogen high enough x

Thank you CLKD and dotty,
I don't know how long getting my levels up is going to take, ive been on gel for 3months now,6 pumps is a scary amount, maybe I'm not absorbing it properly? xx

I was on Evorel Conti for 3 months and it didn't help me at all.

The first month on Oestrogel didn't do anything either. Upped it to 4 pumps but it was 3 months before I began to feel major improvements . X

Yes 3 years post meno. Was really ill last year.... horrific nausea, total exhaustion , couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, heart palpitations , shaky, crying, anxious..... Spent 3 months on hrt tablets that did nothing. Started feeling slightly better after 2 months on Oestrogel. Now I feel fine x

Hi Lisa1966

Do you mind me asking how you are getting on on the 6 pumps of gel?
I think we've spoke before about the gel on another thread.
I'm same as you - permanently hot and drenched in sweat. Feel sick all the time, wake up at 3.02 am every morning on the dot.
I'd previously had 2 months on normality and now I'm back to square 1. Today I feel like I've swallowed a mobile phone.
Do you apPly your gel all in one go and split it?

Hi mis71mum,
I am feeling abit better,I'm able to concentrate on the tv and a few small differences,I actually laughed at work today lol. My consultant wants my estrogen levels to be between 600 and 700 to see if it gets rid of my symptoms, last test it was 120,I have another test on Tuesday,so we will see then. I put 3 pumps on in the morning and 3 in the evening,I'm not having any flushes although I do get hot,but that may be the weather xx

Thanks For your reply.
Just seen on the other thread about your meds. Do you think that they help?
Sometimes I just don't have the fight in me for all the peri rubbish.
I'm going to call Gp tomorrow but am not sure what they will do. Hoping for a blood test but they have said that they don't know how to treat me despite there being a menopause clinic in Sheffield!
My periods have stopped for upto 6 months at a time since 2010 when I was 38.
Fed up of being fobbed off with Ad's etc when I'm sure the cause is hormonal.
Thanks for your reply and take care

I do think the meds help, but I have suffered with anxiety and depression on an off for 27 years,I still remember my first panic attack like it was yesterday, but this time it's different,it crept up on me 3 years ago with loss off confidence and low self esteem, then jan 2017 bam 💥 full blown debilitating anxiety and depression,8 months off work, too scared to be on my own even for 5 mins,it was hell on earth, trust me I never want to go back there,I lost 3 stones in weight, and the rest as they say is history. So I've had one hell of a journey and had to fight every step of the way,but if you don't fight for what you need you won't get it,don't take no for an answer. Like I said I had a laugh at work today for the first time in 3 years, that was a huge achievement for me and a small glimmer of the woman I used to be.
         Keep fighting
            Lisa xx

Thanks Lisa.
What you say rings a bell, being frightened to be alone. My parents had to wait for me outside the toilet for me, in my own house. I couldn't be alone. I lost 2 stone as well. A horrible time for me and my family - I live in fear of it coming back.

To me, this hormone upheaval seems different to typical depression—anxiety.

Thanks again- will keep fighting xxx

It's so definitely different from normal anxiety and depression,I too fear it coming back, that's my biggest fear, but no one knows what's going to happen do they,so we have to fight on xx

Hi Lisa,

I'm so pleased that things are a bit better for you. Keep fighting and you'll get there. My situation is far worse than I post. Some of it similar to yours and I've a long way to go but I feel like I'm heading in the right direction too. This forum brilliant. Even the times when I haven't been up to posting myself just reading things like you smiled at work lifts my spirits enough to keep going.

Wishing you many more laughs Lisa 😀

Robin

Well today I am pouring with sweat, my anxiety is bordering on the irrational, have no energy and feel very low. In fact - I feel like I'm almost having a panick attack.

Not felt like this for ages. My rational mind tells me it's low oestrogen but my irrational mind tells me it's too high!

Just ordered a private blood test - as GP nurse is off sick.
