Title: Bastille Day

Many years ago we travelled to France by Ferry - no options in those days  ::).  We arrived in Calais at 11.30, in the dark, never having driven on the wrong side of the road, to find the town lit by fireworks  ::)

Fourteen years ago, we were in Honfleur on Bastille Day and we stood by the harbour side, watching people trying, one after the other, to climb up a greasy pole above the water.  Most of them fell in to the water.   ::)

Never crossed my mind Shadyglade - now however  ;D with the effort it would take to get me off the UK ........
