Title: Post menopausal bleed
Post by: Cecelia on July 05, 2018, 05:28:38 AM
I'm 56 , no period for 2 years. Before that I was on the mini pill for 5years or so. Came off it to see where I was in the menopause. Last night before bed a big bright red blob on my knickers. Is this just a blip or should I get this investigated?

Definitely get this checked out. It could be atrophy related but better safe than sorry. Let us know how you get on. DG x

Yes I agree - the guidance is that ANY unexpected post-menopausal bleeding should be investigated - at you age especially ie less likely that your periods might be coming back - although there are women who have a late menopause too! Could just be a blip, or a fibroid maybe, or atrophy as Dancinggirl says - but you just need to get checked out to make sure.
