Title: Ovaries question
Post by: Perinowpost on June 26, 2018, 08:59:49 PM
Hi all

I'm back (after a break) with a question.

I had a scan on the nhs 2 years ago and the sonographer informed me she couldn't find my ovaries and that they had probably shrivelled up because I was post menopausal.  I accepted this as it seemed to make sense.

Cut to more recently I paid for a private scan to check the reduced dose of utrogestan I use is working.  The sonographor told me my ovaries are normal size and this is because hrt has tricked my body into thinking it is not yet post menopausal due to the hormones.

I must admit I am confused - is this possible? And should I be worried if my ovaries have increased in size? Does anybody know?

::) can't help.  Sorry.  I suppose HRT could bulk up the ovaries?

I've had many scans due to Endometriosis and there's been many times where my ovaries haven't been visible. They were as I've just recently had them removed! They can get hidden by bowel etc.
