Title: Thank you - VA
Post by: Meadowblue on June 08, 2018, 10:39:23 AM
Firstly can I just say how invaluable I have found this site over the past 6 years.  I am afraid I am guilty of asking questions but not very often replying to other's questions.  I just wanted to thank whoever it was who posted on the VA flare up thread about using coconut oil.  I have been on Vagifem for over 5 years but still occasionally have burning issue flare ups for no rhyme or reason.  Have tried all the usual lubricants over the years but since using coconut oil I can honestly say it is a miracle for me.  As long as used regularly during a flare up it is wonderful and not something I would ever have thought of using.

Hopefully this helps someone with this horrible symptom. :)

You can do both Meadowblue it attacks thrush orally too and is also very good for constipation so a teaspoon at night before bed and you can mould into vaginal pessaries and pop in before bed and it's a double whammy for thrush lol.if you keep the oil in the fridge it solidifies,if you have severe v.a as in paper cuts don't let yourself get constipated and strain as it can re open them.well done glad it's helping you xx

How palatable is when taken orally Daisydot? I'm considering trying it that way.

If you like bounties you've cracked it Robin lol
It's ok can be greasy to some but when you try it if for thrush hold it in mouth and swirl it round fo4 a couple of minutes then spit it out to remove any bacteria it's collected,if using for constipation issues then just take a heaped teaspoon before bed and swallow,it doesent activate anything like a laxative it simply smooths the way,we should really give this to people in our care homes and the elderly in both directions you can bet it would make their lives so much more comfortable.x try it it's pretty good xx

I love bounties. Perhaps I should help it along with a little dark chocolate. Yum.  ;D

I'm going to give it a whirl. Are all coconut oils equal? Which do you use?

No Robin get the raw cold pressed organic coconut oil either from Holland and Barrat it's not dear,or from amazon ie Lucy bee,it has no shelf life as it's antibacterial so if you store in fridge it goes solid like lard or if you leave at room temperature it's runny, runny is easier to take orally.you can also use it for frying it doesent taint the food at all and it's much healthier.xx
