Hi ladies so sorry I forgot but just an info update on the hrt spray lenzetto.
It is available in Italy to buy from the pharmacy but you have to let them order it in and because I was moving around between France Germany Switzerland and Italy there just wasn't the opportunity to order some to try.
I will definately try when I'm in Spain next then I can do another update.
I'm happy enough on the Oestrogel pump but I hate the palaver waiting on it to dry I've got skinny legs so it takes me ages to get dry even on just one pump.xx
-
That's good news Daisydot, it sounds like Italy have a very similar system to Spain.
-
Yes I think so.how are you doing on your lenzetto spray are you still using it,I'm in Spain on the 10th for a few days so I'll go see the pharmacist when I arrive and have a chat and order some.x
-
Daisydot, I'm doing extremely well on the Lenzetto thanks! As you know, I liked Oestrogel but I find Lenzetto even easier to use - it dries in seconds - and I feel it gives me a more steady dose of oestrogen. You will be able to get it in Spain in any pharmacy but you usually have to order it so make sure you do so at the beginning of your holiday although the pharmacy I use has same day delivery if you order before 2pm.

Couple of quick questions about Lenzetto spray.
1) How much does it cost in Spain ?
2) Is one spray the same as one pump of Oestrogel ?
3) why is Lenzetto not prescribed in the UK ?
Many thanks

Morning LL
From what I can remember from MaryG s posts it's just under 14 euros for the spray.
One spray is slightly stronger than the gel and dries in seconds which I would guess is why it's slighlty stronger as it absorbs faster
Can't say why it's not prescribed here it'll be the usual politics about costs etc probably.
as you know certain medicines are widely used in Europe that we don't have access here to like the sachets for breaking down mucus in chest infections,I suffered terribly with recurring pleurisy for a year until I eventually got a friend to post me over that particular med which is around 4 euros a box of sachets,(it was then),and I've not had another chest infection or bout of pleurisy for 3 years now.
Most of the pharmacies I know will no longer give out antibiotics without a private prescription and the pharmacists are excellent at advice so the days of buying stuff willy nilly are long gone it's more regulated now I think.
I'm sure MaryG will come on later and give you up to date info.xx

Morning Daisydot
Many thanks for your reply.
Think I'll try it when in Lanzarote next month.
I did think it was probably something to do with cost but €14 euros isn't much.

Hi LL I'm over in Spain next week for a few days so I'll update you after a few days of using but MaryG is very pleased with it.
It's readily available in Italy too but I just didn't have the time to go back in a day if I ordered it from pharmacists it was too complicated due to time restrictions.xx

Lanzalover, Lenzetto (Evamist in the US) costs €10.77 and it contains 56 doses which each contain 1.53mg of oestrogen so slightly higher than Oestrogel.
I am using two pumps every day but split the dose by 12 hours. I've been using it for 8 weeks now and I really like it.
As for why it isn't available in the UK, probably on cost grounds as usual. The NHS seem to be very conservative and not very open to new forms of medication, it took them forever to agree to prescribe Oestrogel. The UK is practically the only place in world that doesn't licence Utrogestan to be used vaginally - something that nobody has ever been able to adequately explain.
As Daisydot said, Lenzetto is available in most parts of Europe. It has been licensed for use in all EU member states by the EMA who, ironically, are based in Canary Wharf although they will soon be relocating to Amsterdam.
I would say definitely give it a try.

Hi Mary G, I currently use 3 pumps of Estrogel, how many sprays do you think is equivalent? I'm going to purchase Lenzetto in Spain in June because I like the idea of the quick drying time. Did you notice any difference when you changed from Estrogel to Lenzetto? Many thanks in advance.
-
Thanks for the info Mary G.

Abba Fan, 2 pumps of Lenzetto would fall slightly short of 3 pumps Oestrogel but you obviously need a high dose of oestrogen so I would go for 3 pumps of Lenzetto straightaway to be on the safe side and not upset your levels. You will find it very easy to use but you need to spray each individual dose in a different place on your inner forearm - there is a diagram in the PIL which is easy to understand. Of course you go back to the same spot 24 hours later. Do you split the gel dose?
I didn't notice much difference from Oestrogel although I do feel that Lenzetto gives me a more stable dose of oestrogen and I don't feel the side effects from the Utrogestan as much as I did before. I am now into week 9 and really like it, I think it has a better delivery method.
Go for it, I think you will like it too!
-
Mary G, yes I split the dose, 2 at night and one in the morning. Great news you're getting on with it, long may it continue. Thanks ladies, for all your info on this product.
-
Hi MaryG can I ask are you on vagifem pessaries or testogel in Spain? Xx
-
Daisydot, I get the testim from Professor Studd and I don't need vagifem, probably because I'm on a high dise of systemic oestrogen. I forgot to say that the very minor irritation I did get down there (from tampons) has disappeared with the Lenzetto!
Another member has managed to buy a small amount of testosterone OTC in Spain.
-
Thank you MaryG I'll investigate when I'm over next week xx
-
Update ladies.my sisters just told me the lenzetto spray container is very big because of the shape of it too so as she only has hand luggage it could be a problem,I've asked her to try at airport and explain it's medication and the Spanish may let her go on with it,usually depends on mood with them,I had the giggles today when she text me to explain all this because I know she hates any palaver with authority as do I so that's why she's my path finder :rofl:fingers crossed if she's no luck looks like I'll be bringing back a suitcase next week lol.
-
Daisydot, I carried two containers of Lenzetto in my hand luggage from Spain and didn't have any problems. I showed it to the staff at the check in desk in Spain and they said it would not be a problem and it wasn't. I didn't have any problems at the UK end either.
-
She's just text me she's not happy risking it so that's fine if she's not comfy I can't expect her to do it.Im not shy though I'll try it and pleased to hear you managed it,I'll keep you posted lol.thank you MaryG.xx
-
Hi MaryG I managed to get the lenzetto spray but pharmacies are only allowed to order one as apparently there's a shortage at the moment so I ordered from 2 different pharmacies and was lucky enough to get two sprays.they are slightly bigger than an inhaler like a dove roll on size and fit perfectly well in my plastic airport bags.just over 10 euros each so I'll start them when I get home.I also got testosterone pump cream 2% so I'm not gonna start that until I see this nhs gynie on the 24th and see what kind if regime she recommends.i basically want the oestrogel the testosterone and the estring now so it'll be an interesting appointment.xx
-
Daisydot, I've just replied on the other thread but well done for getting the testosterone. Lenzetto is imported so perhaps that is why it is in short supply.
-
Hi i am glad this is still going. I have been just over 4 weeks on lenzetto & have struggled with side effects mostly mood but hopefully once it stabilizes I will feel better.
Maryg how many sprays did you use before you changed to a new spray. I suppose I mean how many sprays did you get out of 1 cannister? I have had about 35 sprays so far. Thanks
Well done Daisydot for getting it
-
Hi paisley,it says 52 sprays on the box.im not going to start it until I get some other things resolved as I don't want too many things going on that I can't monitor.
I have my appointment with private meno consultant again on Thursday 24th he's just confirmed and he's happy to now discuss adding testosterone in to the treatment.Ive arranged a private transvaginal scan for this Thursday evening so I will take the results of that with me along with my dxa scan copy, the gps didn't even have the common courtesy to include the consultant in with the results of the dxa scan which he had requested and recommended I have done, they're so damn rude doing that.im supposed to see the nhs gynie on Thursday 24th as well but I'll reschedule that one,I don't feel she has the expertise anyway so the meno follow up appointment is more important to me.
I hope your side effects stabilise soon paisley and your such a star sharing* this info with us all,it lets us make informed decisions on our route and choice of treatments.i am very appreciative of it so huge thank you xx
-
Hi Daisydot
I really hope all your appointments go well & thankyou about telling me how many sprays. I read on another message that you said that lenzetto was in short supply in the pharmacies in Spain so I better go & order another one quick. I hope that when you eventually start the spray it works for you just like the gel. I always get bad effects when I start any HRT. I am sensitive to anything plus I have had no HRT for over a year so starting from nothing again. I will stick with this dose for 3 months. My mistake in the past has been to change things too quickly & disrupt things even more. Thanks again xxx
-
Morning paisley yes I'd go order if I was you, they wouldn't order more than one spray said suppliers won't accept so maybe order your sprays from a couple of chemists so you have back up just in case.I also bought Rosalgin 500mg granules to try as I'd seen then elsewhere, you just mix a sachet with warm water and splash wash your vag area, external,to reduce any itching and soreness, have a google, you may be interested in them and they're easy for you to buy there, the pharmacies definately have a much wider range of products available for our ladybit issues I saw so many things I wanted to try but obviously I had restrictions on what I could get back definately a mega suitcase next time lol.good luck paisley and thanks so much again xx
-
paisley, sorry I missed your post. I didn't count how many sprays I managed to get from one box of Lenzetto but it must have been nearly 60.
How is it going? Don't be afraid to increase your dose if you need to and I would recommend you split the dose by about 12 hour to keep your oestrogen levels as stable as possible.
I am getting on well with it and find it very easy to use.
-
Thanks so much Maryg for replying
I will order a new one when I get nearer 50. I have used 36 sprays so far & had a couple of good days but my mood is still bad & hasn't improved much yet but have to admit that when I start or change any HRT it always hits me hard. I don't want to change anything yet until I have been on this dose for 3 months as in the past I have been too eager to change dose when things got tough but I must admit not enjoying the wonders of this HRT yet & really hoping that that these effects will lessen soon

Hello Everyone
Hope you're all bearing up under the current situation. I don't think I can bear the thought of another lockdown yet it's looking increasingly likely :(
Just wanted to say that I've just been in touch with my gynaecologist for a new Estrogel prescription and he's recommended Lenzetto. I came straight on here to check it out and did a quick web search and see that it's just been made available in the UK. I am reluctant to change what works for me, but it looks like it might be easier to use that Estrogel so I'm going to give it a go. I'll post an update after I've used it a while to let you know how it goes.
Meantime, would love to hear from others who are currently using it and who can compare it to Estrogel.
Love to you all,
luna66

Lenzetto is supplied by AAH, so Lloyd's should have it. Whereabouts are you living?
