I am peri-menopausal.
My gynaecologist has prescribed oestrogen patches, Estraderm MX 25, to use for three months followed by progesterone tablets, norethisterone, to take for 10 days to induce a bleed to get rid of the lining of the womb.
During the first two months of patches, I've had two one-day, very-light bleeds a month apart.
Do I still need to take the progesterone tablet to induce a period or will my two mini periods have released all the womb lining needed?
Thanks in advance for any help, I'm new to this menopause business!

HI Nxdavies - yes you do. Even if you've had a bit of breakthrough bleeding (which is likely to happen if you use oestrogen alone for some time) it is very important to have the progesterone phase with any HRT regime to ensure a proper shedding of the lining to protect against problematic bleeding and possible uterine cancer.
