Hi
Does anyone else suffer from the onset of constipation once they've upped their estrogel levels? I'm up to 4 pumps a day and it's definitely changed things - not for the better
-
Funny enough I've been bad with constipation and trapped wind causing really bad inflammation up my back to shoulders, last night I had to get up during the night and take milk of magnesia to try ease things, not so sore this morning but still can't go.i go from perfectly fine to pooing pellets I didn't relate to the estrogel.wonder if any one else is noticeing this, ladies??
-
Hi
Yes me too!
I'm thinking of taking something to help it along!
How do you apply your pumps?? Do you do all of them together? If so what time of day? Or are you at night?
-
Not noticed any difference x

That's weird I can't see any logical explanation really but I've not been like this before usually I'm quite good but did suffer ibs on and off when stressed.oh well at least we can compare bumps on here lol.
I put two squirts one on each thigh in the morning.i recommend milk of magnesia it's very gentle on the gut but not on the pocket it's over £5 a bottle, that'll get you going

Hiya
I do 4 pumps on thighs in am. I was doing it twice a day but it made me overwired at night.
I'm hoping it will settle. I never had any issues before AT ALL and it's really uncomfortable.

My milk of magnesia just did it's stuff there thank goodness,it really does work quickly I took it around 3am this morning.im going to overhaul my diet today if I'm going to be prone to constipation on estrogel as I'm not coming off it,too many benefits.yes the hrt made me feel too energised at night so I switched to mornings after advice from ladies on here and it's worked better for me.x

I'm getting a lot of stomach discomfort and pain since starting on Estrogel. I'm not constipated so I assume it's wind :o I've tried taking a good probiotic and Colpamin but it hasn't helped at all. I've got an appointment at docs on the 30th April and if it's no better by then, I might ask if I can try another hrt as it's really getting me down. When I had gut investigations before I was told I had IBS and as there was nothing wrong internally, it was a mental thing caused by stress etc. I was advised to try a very low dose AD but I didn't want to do that at the time. However, I might consider taking alongside hrt if it helps with this awful discomfort. Has anyone tried this ?
Thanks.

I'm the opposite. Increase or decrease & my tummy is just really funny

I'm also getting a bit of indigestion too.
Are we all peri on here?
I seem to be struggling with the gel! Can't seem to get it right? Don't you all feel really wired in the day by applying 4 pumps? Yesterday was awful for me....I honestly had the same obsessive thoughts going around around in my head which lasted 2 hours and I think that's what happens when my oestrogen is high! But then woke up feeling depressed this morning. I feel like I'm getting a hit of gel maybe, then it totally peters out and I dont sleep very well.
Think i'm going to do 3 in the morning and 1 at night and see how that goes.
But the day before I felt as if I had really awful PMT.

No I'm post meno aged 61 soon.i apply two in the morning and it seems to be better for me,I do sometimes wake with that feeling of a sore tummy and acidic feeling and quite low mood but it passes when I get up,i def sleep better with the redbush vanilla tea I ge5 a good 7+ hours on that so I'm not changing anything as it's a huge step forward from where I was. X

I'm also post meno aged 63 and I do 2 pumps in the morning and one at night x
-
I'm post meno also and 59, I use Estradot patches 37.5 but I too have had bloating, wind....frightened the dogs at one point and my son appeared very impressed...sorry I digress. But being very thick, is it the Estradot or could it be the Uterogestan?
Any thoughts ladies?

I don't know what I am...I was 14 months without a period when I went on mirena and estrogel, so I guess I'm more over than before.
I have a great diet, full of gut boosting foods...and a rather exemplary bowel movement before upping the estrogel. Now I just a painful bout of piles!
I've doubled up on having Kefir, bought an aloe vera gel for digestive ease and crossing my fingers...

High oestrogen causes slow transit and gas, due to the fermentation from food hanging around so long, esp in the small intestine.
I had investigation where I had to swallow shapes whose journey is then monitored by X-ray for a few days.
It's apparently like early pregnancy to keep nutrients hanging around for longer whilst the foetus is still vulnerable.

Thanks dangermouse I'm really uncomfortable again tonight so I think I might reduce my squirts for a couple of days this weekend,I've got blood tests on Friday so I don't want to mess around too much with things just now but I'm not so keen on having attacks like this every week or so.Very interesting thank you.xx

Thought I'd just mention ( or brag) lol,the coconut nut oil is definitely helping I take one tablespoon at night and next day it's a nice easy download I've been moaning all morning about not going and brushed my teeth and then went with a vengeance lol.Im going to stick with that it's gross very oily but it's only once at night much better than all that straining and pain.fingers crossed it continues but I definately know it if I miss a night.try it if your struggling.xx

Coconut oil is probably like the old fashioned remedy of cod liver oil. DG x
