Hi all, I have Mirena and use Vagifem, aswell as estrogen gel. I fairly frequently feel/ check my cervix. Most of the time it's quite low and feels squishy and rounded. Just now I checked it in the shower and it feels really high and I felt a hardish lump on one side.
I am freaking out here and won't be able to get to doctors till after Easter now. I usually have normal smears and mirena only went in 5 months ago. I have never felt a lump there before. Could the vagifem be causing this I only been using it since January???
Thanks in advance for my feedback

Are you post meno or peri?
-
Sorry should have said in Peri. Is it possibly relevant to this?? Can't recall ever feeling a lump there before tho
-
Firstly, the cervix probably would be a bit higher in the morning- you've been lying down all night. Highly unlikely the Vagifem would cause anything dramatic as it is such a low dose. Of course you should get this checked but a lump can be all kinds of benign things and if you've had regular smears etc I doubt very much there is anything sinister.
If you have had sex, it could simply be the strings of the Mirena got caught a bit and maybe nicked the neck if the cervix and caused a bit of inflammation?
I can understand how you feel but it's not a good idea to be constantly checking our inside bits - I know I always feel strange things if I delve into this area. DG x

I haven't had this problem [can't as have no cervix!] but agree with Dancinggirl that if you go looking, you generally find... We have all sorts of non-symmetrical/weird/unusual bits all over our body but they aren't a problem until we 'find' them, and then we get anxious. I have found all sorts of worrisome things in my mouth, my breasts, underarms, legs, and even big toe. All of them are still there, some of them years later, so can't be anything sinister.

Thanks for replied.
To answer a few points. I found the lump last night in the shower so not in morning.
Haven't had sex since January so it's not that.
I don't go looking I just feel for strings on occasion and last night was said occasion probably first time I checked in 2 or 3 weeks.
Anyway again thanks ladies I will leave it alone and speak to my Doctor about it next week as I have an appointment already for something else. ;)

Interesting read, thank you. Not going to let it bother me or runi my Easter weekend, no point realy. Will see doctor as scheduled next week and mention it, if it is still present then.
Thanks again

I asked if you were peri because cervix can feel different depending on what stage you are in your cycle.
I have never been able to feel my Mirena strings, hoping that's not going to cause an issue when it needs to be replaced :-\
-
Ok good to know thank you. Yes in Peri not sure on what stage due to Mirena.
Interestingly enough when I had a feel last night the cervix was more in what I consider a normal position and even though I could feel that lump it was barely there. Crazy stuff
I will still mention to GP next week

Hi lovely Ladies, just a quick update. Went to the GP today and got results from scans and nothing much apart from a small gallstone.
I did mention the lump I found on my cervix and the GP checked it out and it appears to be what she called a nabothian cysts which is completely harmless.
Thanks to all that replied.
