Hello ladies, I am Taygirl, aged 63, so not exactly a girl but still feeling young at heart! I am a Type 1 diabetic and have been suffering flushes/night sweats for 13 years now and have tried all the usual over the counter remedies several times over the years but nothing works for long. I am currently taking Starflower, Menopace tablets, vitamin tablets, and joint care capsules as well as Vitamin D tablets and feel reasonable on all that. I still get lots of hot flushes during the day and about 3 or 4 times during the night. As my Mum had breast cancer my doc wasn't keen to put me on HRT so I have just persevered and have a fan at the ready at all times! I have also tried meditation to see if that makes any difference to keeping me calm and not getting exasperated with the sweats and flushes.

Hi and welcome to MM Taygirl - I'm 62 and stopped HRT 2 years ago. I take Red Clover and I think it does help a bit. I have also replaced cows milk with soy milk on my cereal, so more isoflavines. Increasing phytoestrogens/isoflavines may be worth trying. Try taking some magnesium - this has also helped with the surges I tend to get in my legs at night. DG x
