Good morning ladies I don't suppose anyone has any spare tubes of this cream they'd be willing to post to me,my gp just won't give me it even though private consultant has recommended I keep using it,another penny pinching exercise from her.
I will fully reimburse.I will stock up when I go to Spain but meantime I'm hoping someone here can help.💐x
-
Can you see another GP? my named doctor wouldn't prescribe my Vagifem for another 3 months so I saw another one in the practice who was happy to prescribe whatever I needed.
-
Looks like I'll have to try that Tinkerbell, thank you for taking the time to reply XX
-
Can you write to the practice manager explaining the situation ? Failing that see another GP or change to a different practice?
-
Sorted now thank you ladies.Im fed up chopping and changing practices they're all the blooming same here ones worse than the other,my private gynie has written to the gp and it looks like it's fallen on deaf ears.I will try one more gp down there but if no joy I'll stay private I can't deal with this stress all the time.im not paying a private gynie for private scripts at £30 a time either I'll buy it next time I'm abroad,be cheaper to strock pile and pay fir a suitcase in the hold 😂 thanks so much ladies xx

Well I've decided this morning after trying unsuccessfully to order a repeat prescription online that I'm going to go down and have it out with the head partner today,I'm still under the care of the private meno consultant that I pay for and I want an explanation of why they are refusing to follow his recommendations and prescribe my treatment on the nhs that I worked my backside off to pay into.ive managed to get a lunchtime appointment and apparently he's a lovely man,I've never been able to get him he's so booked up so I was lucky to spot the appointment online this morning.anyway fingers crossed I can appeal to his better nature and get him onside.ill update this afternoon.xx
-
Well done Daisydot. Go for it xx
-
Good luck Daisydot, I do so hope you get a positive outcome from seeing the head honcho. You have had so much trouble from these people and you deserve better than that. We all do. I'll have everything crossed for you and hope to hear some good news later on.

Thank you ladies I'm on a mission today 😂😂xx
-
You have been treated very badly. If someone was on insulin the doctor wouldn't stop it so why stop hrt ???
-
Update as promised.you couldn't bloody make this up.
I sat there for an hour and ten minutes ,not just me other patients too, they came out said dr is in urgent meeting so either sit and wait but no idea when or if we'd see him or cancel and come back and see locum in the afternoon,it was blowing a blizzard here so I was too scared to wait any longer in case I couldn't get home and I'm certainly not venturing back out in it ,so ,complete and utter waste of bloody time,it's a shambles here.xx
-
Oh that's disappointing Daisydot.
Hope you get an appointment soon and more importantly the outcome you want (fingers crossed)

When I got home today I went online to rebook and couldn't believe when I saw they'd added “patient walked out “onto my file,I'm bloody fuming again.
I'm def going to fire off a letter to practice manager but it won't make a blind bit of difference I already know this.
I'm just going to go private and buy my hrt or get private scripts and I'll get check ups from consultant annually I can't keep putting myself through this stress it pulls me down again,I honestly dread getting an illness I have no confidence in any of them.truth be told they all need a kick up the ass.I actually made some phone calls today to see if I could register at another practice and it was no everywhere I tried, not in our area I was told. The whole system here is so overloaded your lucky to get to see a gp at all it's more and more prescribing nurses now.sorry rant over, better out than in eh?.😂😂thanks ladies xx
-
Could the private consultant who prescribed it write to them insisting ?
I'm speechless,
-
Hi Annie the consultant sent a great letter last week yet again, he wasn't nasty but just pointed out the reasoning behind his suggestions and saying he was more than happy to follow up my progress at regular intervals,it really was a great letter but I couldnt even get in to discuss today.im losing the will to live here lol.its so frustrating no wonder you say your speechless, what are we supposed to do with these people thank god im quite a positive person because it would send some people into the pits of despair, they just don't bloody care.
Thanks Annie xx

Sorry to hear this Daisydot. The thing is it's not as though you are asking for something that is not licensed so there is no reason not to prescribe you the cream. On NHS I get Estradot patches, Utrogestan, Vagifem and estriol cream 0.01% - I've never gone privately (except for testosterone which does not currently have a licensed product for women, and is understandably, although regrettably hit and miss re prescription), so if I can then everyone should - it should not be down to induividual discretion if there is no medical reasomn why not - even though you went to a private consultant in the first place. If they won't prescribe it then ask them to refer you to an NHS menopause consultant who will - this is also your right if they are not knowledgeable enough. I'm fuming on your behalf!!!

Hi Hurdity pleased to hear from you.She wouldn't acknowledge the consultants report and said she was referring me to a gynie specialist on choose and book, when the letter came through it was for a gp who has a special interest in women's health at another practice,it seems to be the done thing here to use this process rather than actually referring to a meno specialist,I'm assuming it'll then be this next doctor who would refer me yet again costing the nhs more money when it's totally unnecessary as I've already paid privately for a meno specialist myself it's driving me nuts.Im now on one squirt Oestrogel, one vagifem pessarie every third night and I've run out of the estriol cream which they won't give me any more of,it's all working great for me and consultant has written again stating this and explains again why this regime but I couldn't get the chance to confront them today.Im awful weary tonight and to say I walked out on my file after I'd sat for over an hour today waiting on my appointment infuriated me even more.as I said kick up the ass would be perfect for them all.xx

Daisydot, that is appalling treatment and the reason why so many of us are forced to seek help privately. Most women don't have the time or the inclination to put themselves through that kind of crap particularly when the GP is completely clueless about HRT anyway and can't give you any good advice.
How are your supplies holding out? Are you in danger of running out of Oestrogel?
-
Hi MaryG I'm pretty well stocked up I bought some Oestrogel from an online pharmacy in Harley street, they do the Oestrogel and not the oestrodose so thank you for asking.
I did actually get Oestrogel and vagifem from gp previously but they seem to be blocking my repeat prescription requests and I'm all out of fight at the moment but I'm sure after a couple of days rest I'll resume battle lol.many thanks xx
-
It's the Estriol cream that Daisydot has been unable to get on her prescription Mary G, not estrogel which I think is OK - is that right Daisydot?
Hurdity x
snap - I posted same time as you Daisydot!
-
Lol snap Hurdity.yes I can't fathom them out at all one minute they refuse me hrt say I shouldn't be on it at my age then they give me it,I need to try again to resolve this but not feeling up to it right now I've got so many other things going on in the background but maybe in a day or two I'll feel my warrior vibes again😂 thanks so much ladies xx
