Title: nausea

Does anyone else suffer from nausea due to perimenopause? I have noticed it since I have had bad symptoms of the perimenopause wondered if it is due to the low estrogen ? Or can HRT patches make you feel like this ?

Ruby10  I have suffered terrible nausea with menopause but my GPs refuses to register it as a symptom of menopause . However, I have read specialists saying that it is a symptom.

It can also be a side effect of HRT.

YEP, nausea is another very common meno symptom. Eat small amounts often.  DG x

Thanks, it so annoying how many symptoms there are to do with the menopause. I seem to have got most of them   :'( Hoping it will pass very soon  (i can dream i suppose)

Nausea was a horrible peri symptom for me.  So hard to work and be chirpy when you feel you're going to throw up.  It can't be low oestrogen as my levels have always been very good.  I guess it's the fluctuations of them

I had been prescribed anti nausea pills for a hideous 4day migraine I'd had changing hrt so in desperate times I used to use them

Just to add it does go away the further into menopause you get, it did for me x

I can look forward to that then  :)  trying the ginger biscuits at the moment to help like it did a bit when i was pregnant.

Ruby 10 - my doc gave me an anti sickness medication.....cyclizine

Hello Ruby10.

Another sufferer here!  As I've said before I never had morning sickness with my pregnancies and have only experienced it with the menopause. I have considered asking for antI nausea meds from my GP but I think there are some OTC treatments as well.

You have my sympathy as it is a horrible feeling.

Yes I get it at certain times of the month. It reminds me of the sickness feeling I had in pregnancy. I read on here about taking an anti histamine tablet and that does seem to work for me.

Yes it's is just like when I was pregnant and that nausea . I will try the antihistamine if not anti sickness tablets
