Title: A funny story about my periods
Post by: hereandthere on February 03, 2018, 03:22:26 PM
Thought I'd share how silly I've been. I'm just ending my second month on Evorel Sequi and on picking up my third month's pack, complained to the pharmacist that I'm still having two periods a month instead of the sometimes none before the HRT. She looked at me a bit funny then asked me to explain how I've been taking them. Well turns out I've been applying two Evorel 50 ones and then two Conti ones, instead of 4 of one kind sequentially. Hence the constant withdrawal bleeds. I felt like a proper nana ;D
Who knows how long I may have kept doing this! Anyway she suggested I now apply 6 50s in a row ie the 50s I'm on plus the next 4 in the next box, so as to correct and not get two 50s left in the box. Easier to remember that way. But I'm thinking I may just do 4 this time, then 5 the next, so as to slowly correct instead.

I'd be like you , that sounds so confusing !

My silly ‘period' story was that I've not had periods for absolute years following my hysterectomy when I was 32.    The morning after my first ever spray tan I wiped myself after my morning wee and was horrified to find ‘old blood' on my tissue.  Gathering my thoughts I was ready to call 111 when I realised it was the excess spray tan lol x

My local pharmacist is great. I went in to ask for his advice  about whether he thought it was advisable for me to take a certain drug given the side effects, and his response was 'well I'm not very keen on all these drugs myself, I'd advise you to try an alternative therapy like acupuncture'. I felt like saying 'mate, you really are in the wrong job' :) He did give me very helpful advice in the end though.

Good to know others do silly things too. ;)
However I am thinking I may not have made the mistake had I read the package insert you can find here for Evorel Sequi:
https://treatedprod.azureedge.net/frpdf/PIL_Evorel-Sequi.pdf
The insert we have in SA is full of medical jargon and confusing instructions whereas this one is beautifully clear. Maybe it is the UK one.
