Hi ladies I might be being a bit numb here but to use the gel do you just press a little or do you have to press right down ??xx
-
It's not a dumb question it's one I wondered about too.there seems to be a big difference in amounts depending how much you depress doesn't there so I agree the confusion.i press it lightly so my blob is about 10p sized but I really don't know for sure either.xx
-
I pressed all the way down as my understanding was the 'pump' gave a measured dose. :)
-
Your right salad but I thought that was an awful lot and I could have covered my whole leg with that amount not just thigh so I didn't press so hard.xx
-
I am just worried if I press right down the bottle will run out??
-
Maybe order your next prescription early then crazywoman so you always have one to hand just in case,it’ll put your mind at rest.x
-
You need to press pump all the way down to get a full dose or you won't be getting enough.
-
Thanks ladies I'll try again tonight.x
-
Thanks ladies I will try using the correct amount in the morning x
-
I just put my evening dose on there and I pressed right down this time and there wasn't a massive difference in the amount.this is Oestrogel.i found when using oestrodose I did seem to get an awful big blob which was what made me worry.maybe just a dodgy can last time,at least now I know I'm doing the right thing thank you ladies xx
-
Yes! Definitely press it all the way down as the pump measures the correct dose.
-
Just started with oestrogel . Hope I'm doing it right 😕😄

Hi dotty I started with one squirt on my inner thigh in the morning then next day used the other thigh then after 4 weeks I increased to one in the morning and one at night on the same thigh and then next day one in the morning and one at night on the other thigh.im definitely feeling better on the Oestrogel and vagifem combination.good luck xx
-
Hi Daisydot I’m using 2 squirts in a morning at moment
Were you advised to do 1 in morning and 1 at night ?
-
It was from previous posts I read on here dotty that I thought spreading it over the day would keep me level and it's definately working for me,on the patches I was getting big dips after a couple of days but I'm feeling pretty good on the gel.i also felt kind of flat on the oestrodose so searched out the proper Oestrogel and no longer have that flat feeling.hope this makes sense to you.xx
-
Daisydot... yes it does. I'm swapping from tablets that didn't do much for me.
I got Oestrogel in a turquoise and white can. Got it in Asda and they said they are not allowed to give you cheaper one if it says Oestrogel on prescription.
-
That's great information dotty.thank you for sharing that.xx good luck x

hi ladies how long did it take for the hot flushes to ease i have only been on it since monday but hot flushes seem to be getting worse
-
Crazy woman it took 3 weeks for my day flushes to go when I was taking tablets
-
I was originally on Premarin and the flushes went in a couple of weeks and I've changed from Premarin to patches to oesrtrogel over the last 5/6 months now and flushes have not made an appearance again.mines were moments apart all day/night the bed was soaking wet every morning and I also stank,it's been a marvel for me to be rid of that.good luck xx
-
Thanks ladies i am really looking forward to having no hot flushes fingers crossed not getting much sleep because of this xx

Ive just started using oestrogel, gp prescribed after fitting Mirena (that bit hurt!) I fully depress the pump down once for each dose (it says firmly down). At the mo and only 4 days off patches I already feel that I'm absorbing the gel much better than the patches, currently using 2 pumps in morn 1 at night as was on 75-100 patches to feel any benefits.
Who knows maybe will be able to use just 2 after a while. Feel a bit tender/bloated and have a bit of backache but think that's the Mirena and initial side effects I hope will be over ridden by the oestrogel eventually.
I so hope this works for me as I'm running out of options ( my body doesn't like progesterone!).
Have a good weekend ladies I'm just going to attempt a run in the rain 🏃🏻♀️☔️ Xx
-
Good luck optimist I hope it works for you I actually prefer it. I've already got soaked 4 times today so no running for me lol xx

Thanks Daisydot...fingers crossed🤞🏼. It was warm rain so was okay, quite enjoyed it 😊 x
