Hi all ladies i have been on patches for two months but although I do think they have worked I find the patches annoying - cant have a nice soapy bath and as I go to the gym a lot they seem to unstick after exercise and showers. So I have now been to the doctor today and have been given tablets - elleste duet - anyone else moved from patches to tabs? I believe there is a slight increase of blod clots but what about breast cancer?

Why not try gel instead of tablets?
Which patches were you on and which Elleste Duet have you gone on to?

I didn't like patches at all and in my case they didn't work or stick properly. I find Oestrogel to be the best form of oestrogen by far so depending on how you get on with the tablets you could ask for the gel.
What type of progesterone were you taking with the patches?
Don't worry about BC risk, it's minute.

I agree that if you are going to change from patches I would change to gel. I guess you were probably on the fairly large combi patches? Unfortunately with gel there is no combi preparation as with patches, so you have to take a separate progestogen which would be Utrogestan (micronised progesterone), Provera or the Mirena coil.
