HI Everyone,
I would very much welcome any experiences or advice you may have on this subject.
As so many people on here, I am trying to find something that works...It seems that I have the "wired" "insomniac" feeling utterly awful that comes with the Utrogestan element of HRT. However, additionally, I cannot tolerate the pain of muscle spasm throughout the body which does not completely disappear when I am in the Oestrogen only phase (I am taking a high dose of Tramadol and Diclofenac to try and combat this but they don't work). Indeed today I was at the specialist who has injected anaesthetic into some of the major muscles of the back in an attempt to enable me to stand up straight for a while...
I was taking Oestrogel at 2 pumps daily to the upper arms and shoulders then began to have significant problems with the left shoulder...I cannot work out whether this had anything to do with it but have moved to a patch in case...
Has anyone else had this level of pain and immobility with HRT? I recognise being hypermobile may have a part to play but I am really interested in your views.
I see the Gynae who trips out the mantra of either 200mg progesterone over 14 days or 100mg continuously and simply will not acknowledge that any other option exists.
I have reviewed the Studd and Panay data and indeed am hoping to see the Panay team before too long.
In the meantime I have to live....and sadly given my experiences to date am not hopeful of an answer in the medical folks arena.
Thanks.

I forgot to mention, taking 50mcg oestrogen patch for the last couple of weeks, prior to that 2 pumps of Oestrogel... I tried upping the gel dose to 3 daily and it made it absolutely worse.... I have tried reducing the gel but keeping the utrogestan and the pain was unbelievable...
I have yet to complete a cycle of utrogestan and am also clearly concerned about the endometrial elements but will deal with that separately.

My response is not going to be much help I fear. I take 2 pumps of oestrogel and 100mg uterogestan for 12 days and I have not problems with it. Sadly there is so much still unknown about our bodies and hormones that what causes what is hard to determine.
