I have been using oestrogel for a few weeks now and with one dose in the morning and one at night. My theory was that this would spread the estrogen in my system out evenly. However I noticed that I was fine all morning but mid afternoon I would get very hot and at bedtime. Doing some research I discovered this graph ( http://www.eje-online.org/content/148/2/227.full.pdf) showing typical estrogen daily fluctuations and I realised that maybe I should take the morning dose later in the day. Thought I'd share my finding in case it helps anyone else.

Thanks for posting this aspie65 - I remember reading this in the past but had forgotten and it will be new to many :).
In your case and looking at the graph - why not just try applying one dose in the afternoon and see how you feel? (not very convenient though!)
