Title: FSH 0f 99
Post by: libby1 on December 14, 2017, 08:02:12 PM
Hi Girls

My mirena is now 5 years old and I've just had my FSH tested, it's 99.  Does this mean that I can have it removed and not worry about contraception as my FSH is so high?

I would have thought so but do check with your doctor.  How old are you? If over 54, then I think you could assume you are well into post meno.  DG x

My reading was 136 at the age of 53 but my doctor still advised emergency contraception after the failure of a condom! I agree that it depends on how old you are.

I'm 50, but not had a period for 2 years so was hoping that I don't need contraception anymore  ???

The Mirena could have stopped your periods.

I don't think so as I had them regularly for the first 3 years
