Title: Help sore breasts
Post by: pricey on December 07, 2017, 06:48:22 AM
Hi again ladies.  Well I am almost through my first month of Femoston conti. I have (so far) had no spotting or breakthrough bleeding.  The extreme tiredness has eased and this is the first month I have been practically free of the headaches and neck pain that have plagued me in the 2nd half of the cycle on Elleste duet. The only issues are a 2-3lb weight gain which happened overnight and resembles my premenstrual bloating. Along with this I have sore breasts that are getting increasingly sore as each day passes, to the point I wince if something brushes them. I think I would take these over the headaches (possibly!) but does the soreness suggest the Femoston does not suit me? Or might it ease if I stick it out. Or i am wondering should I be asking for Femoston as sequi since the change in progesterone seems better for me in other ways?  At least then the sore breasts might get some relief.  Or should I wait a few more weeks? Advice greatly appreciated!  x :o

Usually you try to stick it out the 12 weeks (or near if you have to see the GP again for prescription review).  It should settle, in theory.

Have you tried evening primrose oil?  I find the best thing is my favourite comfortable bra (which is long past its sell by date but I can't find a better one  :( ) and some ibuprofen.

pricey - sore breasts are a normal side effect and this should settle in time as the body adjusts.  DG x

Hi Pricey

I had to swap HRT earlier in the year and omg....my boobs, even something coming within a foot of them made them painful! It was slowly getting better but I managed to swap back to patches but still took a few weeks to settle down. That was on a pill progesterone which I never had with the patches.

Hopefully it will settle down! I think another couple of ladies on here said to try the Evening Primrose oil during this time.

Take care!
