Hi,
I am five years post meno and generally my symptoms have settled or gone. No hot flushes and only the occasional night sweat. Mood not bad with the worst of anxiety under control. Brain fog a little persistent but not as bad. However, I am getting increasing periods of aches and pains which I don't know if are caused by hormone loss or just getting older.
My hand have spells of being quite stiff but only usually for a week or two, and then they improve. I also get a lot of aches and stiffness in my lower back and down my legs. This is not really bad pain more annoying aching which makes walking uncomfortable, and sometimes disturbs my sleep. I do try and keep active with walking and occasionally my exercise bike. I also have started taking B vits as they are said to be good for inflammation. I also take Vit D and omega 3.
Do any of you post meno ladies experience the same, and if so can you give me some tips of how to deal with this. I am looking to get one on those exercise elastic band as they are supposed to be good for flexibility, but who knows.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :)

Shadeyglade - I'm the same as you. I am 61 and after many years of HRT, I decided it was time to stop about 16 months ago.
I still have trouble controlling my body temperature - particularly any heat source - but I cope with that OK. I'm lucky if I get 4-5 hours of quality sleep and my joints have definitely deteriorated. Unfortunately for me, HRT was giving me problematic bleeding and gradually more and more other side effects - essentially the side effects outweighed the benefits and with over 25 years of using HRT, I had tried just about every type going - I think my body just couldn't cope with it any more.
I do feel as though I have aged far faster in the last year. Doing enough exercise to keep everything moving is definitely the way to go - I love walking, I do my ‘core' strengthening exercises and I dance around my kitchen when cooking the supper.
Getting enough relaxation time is also vital. It's a pain getting older, in every way :-\ :'(. Dg x

Just to say I have starting taking a tumeric tea which seems to calm everthing down, settles stomach. Maybe just a placebo but who knows! Tumeric seems to be popular in Asia and the states as an anti inflamatory. I sometimes think inflamation causes a lot of my troubles; stomach, anxiety etc . I put lemon, ginger, half tea spoon tumeric, nutmeg pinch into hot water with honey - I sometimes use a lemon or green tea to start with.

Thanks Roseneath. Always good to hear of alternative remedies. Does turmeric taste OK.? I expect it is fine with the honey etc.
