Title: breast tenderness
Post by: soozie on November 04, 2017, 10:06:20 AM
Hi Can anyone tell me if they still get breast tenderness after the menopause? I used to get  a lot, particularly in my left breast when I was still having periods. Now 2 years after my final period I seem to be getting it again. I am a bit worried. Does anyone else have this?

Hello soozie and welcome to the forum.

I am 61 and haven't had a period for seven years and still get breast tenderness ( I've never missed a mammogram and all is well btw). For four of those seven years I've been experimenting with HRT and this gives me tenderness on occasion plus it was a regular feature of pmt when I was younger.

I'm sure other ladies will be along to comment and offer advice on how to cope with it.

Take care and keep posting.

K.

Hi soozie.  Some smaller cyclical changes do continue for a while after last period which some women are more aware of. However if you are worried please do get your breasts checked out  - and I presume you have regular mammograms as well as having a good feel yourself?
