Hi ... was wondering if anyone found hrt benefical for IBS symtoms. Having a lot of cramps and frequent bowel movements especially first thing in the morning .. along with anxiety and a kind of adrenaline surge .. its really hard to get out of the house on time 😳 Just started hrt and was hoping it might improve the bowels. HRT hasn't changed my pattern of IBS symptoms, they are just the same and I have used systemic HRT for over a year now.

Sorry to say but my IBS - which is the same as yours - hasn't improved on HRT. Tablet HRT made it much worse but patch HRT kept things the same.
How long have you had this problem by the way? Have you had it properly diagnosed as this is important. I find that Buscopan does help to regulate things but I do have to get up a good two hours before leaving the house just to make sure that I'll be ok on the way to work.

Thanks For replies ladies . I've just started on patches. No I haven't had it diagnosed but probably best to see doctor . (Its just that I never seem to be out of the doctors surgery with one ailment or another ! But have noticed my bowels are getting worse hand In hand with all my other peri symptoms that are getting worse, hence the Hrt ) I will take a look at Buscopan ... thank you

Although its easier to just put up with it if the symptoms are new for you or are getting worse then it is a good thing to have yourself checked out. Let us know how you get on.
