Are they both tablets you've tried?
If so maybe try a patch or gel?

I have m e and fibromyalgia. Tried six various types of tanlets and patches.  All were terrible. Ask for oestrogen gel...not perfect but its bio identical and closer to your oun hormones. People with me and fibro r proven to be much more reative and sensitive to medications xxx

I'd suggest gel then.  You  can start with 1 pump and increase with half pumps until you feel ok and utrogestan inserted vaginally if you have a womb (but I don't use progesterone so not savvy on it) x

I will try for gel I think I  will have a battle with my gp to get it though. He understands the M .e and how I react and can't tolerate medicines well so let's hope he understanding.

Hi Donna-paul

 :welcomemm:

Your doctor is out of order in making you try tablets first if you wanted to try patches. It is so important to be completely clued up about HRT before asking for it otherwise the docs will give you the cheapest. I started on patches straight away because I knew I did not want to take HRT by mouth and did not want it to go through the liver. It is the most natural way of replacing your hormones.

Have a look at the different HRT preparations (Treatments tab above - pale green banner) - there are various progestogens although the most natural is Utrogestan as Annie0710 suggested. There are a very few women who rarely are allergic to any form of exogenous progestogen (including progesterone) and come out in a rash but I can only remember one or two on here in the past five or six years ( that I remember anyway  ::) ).

Once you've done your research and got your argument sorted out - as to why you want to use whichever product you choose - write it down and your reasons, and then go to your doc with this information - and be prepared to stand your ground!

Good luck and let us know how you get on :)

Hurdity x

I tried with both my drs for patches and they both said no as I didn't have high blood pressure or overweight they both said you had to have that criteria! I know it down to costs!! It was definitely the progestrone I was allergic to came out with sores and rash and peeling skin so had to stop Femoston. I'm trying to perserve with Elleste but struggling!

I think you need to write to the practice manager about this along with info about transdermal hrt
